The Rivers State Police Command has announced the appointment of ASP Blessing Kaborlo as its new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO). The appointment, which was approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, was disclosed in a formal statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday by the outgoing spokesperson, CSP Grace Iringe-Koko.
ASP Kaborlo was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force in 2023 following the completion of her five-year training program at the Nigeria Police Academy. An indigene of Ogoni in the Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, she brings a strong academic background to the role, holding a Bachelor of Laws degree from the academy and a Master of Laws from Rivers State University.
In addition to her academic qualifications, the new PPRO has undergone specialized tactical training, including combat operations and counter-terrorism courses at Ende Hills, Nasarawa, as well as citizenship and leadership training at Shere Hills, Jos. Before this appointment, Kaborlo served in various significant capacities within the force, including roles at the Okporo Divisional Police Station and the Human Rights Section. Most recently, she served as the Second-in-Command at the Rivers Command’s Public Relations Office.
The outgoing PPRO, CSP Grace Iringe-Koko, expressed confidence in her successor’s ability to maintain the command’s standards. She assured the public that under Kaborlo’s leadership, the Rivers State Police Command will continue to prioritize transparency, effective communication, and the strengthening of police-community relations.
