The Rivers State Government has postponed the commissioning of the newly completed Air Force Base Runway Project, earlier scheduled to hold Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
The government, in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Dagogo Wokoma, said the commissioning ceremony has been rescheduled to Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The event is now scheduled to commence at 3:00 pm.
Wokoma said that the state government regret over any inconvenience the change of date may cause invited guests, stakeholders and members of the public.
According to statement, “The commissioning has been rescheduled and will now hold on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
“The Government expresses regret over any inconvenience the change of date may cause to invited guests, stakeholders, and members of the public, while also appreciating their understanding, cooperation, and continued support” it added.
