The funeral rites for Hajiya Hadiza Isu-Sa’idu, the mother of former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, drew a significant gathering of Nigeria’s political and business elite to pay their final respects irrespective of political differences on Sunday.
Notably, the funeral held at the National Mosque attracted the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani.

Mohammed Umaru Bago, Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
The ceremony saw strong representation from the current administration and Northern leadership.
El-Rufai’s mother died in Egypt, where she was receiving medical treatment.
Recall that El-Rufai has been in the custody of the ICPC since February 19 after he was released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) but was released on temporary bail by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) following the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, on Friday.
