Resident brutally attacked in alleged political hit in Ota

A resident of Tigbo Junction in the Ado-Odo/Ota area of Ogun State, Mr. A resident of Tigbo Junction in the Ado-Odo/Ota area of Ogun State, Mr. Tijani Abideen Babatunde, is currently fighting to recover from life-threatening injuries, is currently fighting to recover from life-threatening injuries following a targeted home invasion that he claims was politically motivated.

The assault, which occurred at his residence on April 20, was allegedly carried out by a five-man gang who specifically cited his political influence as the reason for the attack.

Recounting the ordeal from his hospital bed, Babatunde identified the leader of the gang as a local individual known as “Omo Governor.”

He described a scene of extreme violence where the assailants, armed with cutlasses and glass bottles, forced him to the ground and declared they were there to teach him a lesson.

The victim sustained deep machete wounds to his head and was left unconscious in a pool of blood before being discovered by a neighbor and rushed for emergency medical treatment.

The victim’s account suggests that the attack was a calculated attempt to intimidate or silence his political activities within the local community.

While the full identity of the other four assailants remains unknown, the brutality of the home invasion has sparked concerns regarding the safety of political actors and residents in the region.

Local authorities have been called upon to investigate the lead identified by the victim and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice to prevent further acts of political thuggery.
