Registrar-General will not bow to intimidation, blackmail –CAC warns

The management of Corporate Affairs Commission has disclosed that the Registrar General, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN will not succumb to intimidation by some group of people who are targeting at blackmailing the laudable achievements of the Registrar General.

In a statement signed by Signed by management, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on Thursday said the attention of the Corporate Affairs Commission has been drawn to recent acts of intimidation and baseless allegations targeted at the Registrar-General.

It reads: “Let it be clearly stated that the Registrar-General will not succumb to any form of blackmail, distraction, or pressure in the discharge of his lawful responsibilities.

“If anyone has credible evidence of corruption or wrongdoing against him, they are advised to forward such petitions to the relevant anti-corruption agencies for proper investigation and prosecution, rather than resorting to falsehood and smear campaigns.“

The statement added that the Commission remains focused on transparency, reform, and service to Nigerians under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Recalled that some recent achievements of the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) include the launch of an AI-powered registration portal, which aims to drastically reduce the time for business registration, and the initiative to provide 250,000 free business registrations for MSMEs in partnership with SMEDAN.

There have also been significant revenue growth, the successful completion of staff promotion exercises, and amicable settlements of industrial court cases, along with receiving awards for leadership and progress.
