Primaries: Oshiomhole lauds APC members’ solidarity for President Tinubu

23 May 2026

Sen. Adams Oshiomhole (APC- Edo)  has  commended  members of the party nationwide  for showing solidarity for  the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.

Oshiomhole gave  the commendation while taking part in the APC presidential primary election in his area,  Ward 10, Apana in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo on Saturday.

The report states that 365 APC members voted to affirm President Bola Tinubu’s  re-election in Oshiomhole’s  ward.

The correspondent at the venue reports that the party members showed enthusiasm to vote in the direct primaries for Tinubu.

The election officer, however,  announced to the participants to indicate if there are any other candidates and they all affirmed support for Tinubu.

The report recalls that Tinubu is the sole presidential aspirant of the APC for the 2027 presidential election.

Oshiomhole pointed out that all APC members in his ward were in 100 per cent support of President Tinubu’s re-election.

“You can see elderly women and even nursing  mothers with their babies here to   show support for the President.

“Everybody,  both young and old , who are of voting age have all affirmed President Bola Tinubu.

” So for me, I am very excited, even my mother and other  elderly women  got here before me,  that shows  the level of their commitment to the Tinubu re-election bid,” Oshiomhole said.

The former  Edo governor urged  electorates to eschew violence in the build up to the 2027 presidential election.

He  also advised Nigerians  to register with INEC and obtain their  voters cards to enable them  participate in the  general elections.

”  What we need now  is  to preach peace. Election is not war, it is a celebration of freedom, freedom to choose who you want and freedom to refuse to choose who you don’t want. That is the beauty of democracy.

*We don’t want violence, we want our elections  to be  as seamless as what is obtained in other climes. Nigeria has to get there and I believe in this part of the country, we are already there.

” I look forward to a very peaceful election come Jan, 15, 2027, ” he said.
