President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on an official visit to Ogun State on Friday, where he will commission and inspect key infrastructure projects across the state.
The visit will feature the unveiling of major projects spanning aviation, transportation, security, and agriculture, as part of efforts to boost economic growth and service delivery.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the President’s itinerary reflects a broad range of strategic investments by the Ogun State Government.
Top on the list is the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport, Iperu, a project aimed at positioning the state as an aviation and logistics hub.
During the visit, the President will also commission two aircraft under Gateway Air, marking the operational launch of the state-backed airline initiative in partnership with ValueJet.
He is expected to witness a cargo operations demonstration at the airport, facilitated by SAHCOL, signalling readiness for logistics and freight services.
Other assets to be commissioned at the airport include 1,000 electric bikes under the state’s mobility initiative, 80 security vehicles, and a fleet of agricultural tractors to support farmers and boost food production.
Beyond the airport, Tinubu will commission the Ilishan–Iperu Airport Road, which links the facility to surrounding communities.
He is also scheduled to inspect the Nigeria Customs Service Village and commission the Forward Operating Base (FOB), aimed at strengthening security and trade facilitation.
The visit will further include the inspection and commissioning of the Gateway Aviation Village, designed to support the state’s aviation ecosystem.
In addition, the President will commission the reconstructed Sapade–Ilishan Road, also known as the Old Ibadan Road, which will be renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Expressway.
The road is expected to improve connectivity and boost commercial activities within the area.
Tinubu is also expected to inspect the ongoing Sagamu–Benin Concrete Road project, a key federal infrastructure aimed at enhancing transport efficiency along the corridor.
The projects reflect the Ogun State Government’s drive to expand infrastructure, strengthen economic activity, and improve connectivity across the state.
