…recover dismantled ₦650k generator

Operatives from the Warewa Division in Ogun state have dismantled a fraudulent syndicate specializing in the theft and illegal liquidation of rented industrial equipment.

The breakthrough led to the arrest of a prime suspect and the recovery of component parts from a stolen 10KVA generator valued at ₦650,000.

According to police reports, the complainant had rented out the high-capacity generator for what was supposed to be a legitimate business transaction. Instead, the equipment was unlawfully diverted and sold on the black market for a mere ₦15,000.

Acting on precise intelligence, Warewa detectives tracked the stolen asset to Kara-Isheri, where they caught the suspect red-handed while he was actively dismantling the generator into parts for rapid resale.

Preliminary findings suggest this is not an isolated incident. The suspect is believed to be connected to a wider, organized network that systematically targets and defrauds equipment rental businesses.

Efforts are currently underway to track down fleeing accomplices and retrieve the remaining components of the machinery.

Reacting, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the tactical precision and vigilance of the recovering team.

Reaffirming that Ogun State will remain hostile territory for criminal elements, CP Ojajuni emphasized the command’s reliance on proactive, intelligence-led policing strategies.
