Police rescue five abducted Polytechnic students

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have successfully rescued five students of Gateway Polytechnic, Sapade, following a coordinated intelligence-led operation.

The victims were abducted on April 27, 2026, after their vehicle was ambushed by armed criminals in the Sapade area.

The Ogun state Commissioner of Police. vp Bode Ojajuni mobilized tactical units, including SWAT and the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, who tracked the abductors into the forest.

Following a gun duel that forced the suspects to flee with injuries, all five students were recovered and have since been evacuated for medical attention.

Bush combing operations remain active as the command seeks to apprehend the fleeing suspects, a statement by the Police stated.
