The Taraba State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux and detained two individuals in Jalingo after receiving intelligence from Kano.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) James Lashen, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, stated on Monday that operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Squad acted swiftly on the information.
“The command received details from the Commander of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Kano that a white Toyota Hilux without a plate number had been stolen from its owner, Mr Murtala Musa of No. 6 Dutse Road, Kano, and was heading towards Jalingo.
“Upon receiving this intelligence, our operatives in Taraba intercepted the vehicle in the Dinyavo area of Jalingo and arrested Yallah Kadara of Anguwan Kasa and Sa’ad Bello,” the statement read.
ASP Lashen confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Isokpan, praised the officers for their prompt and coordinated response, and reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace and public safety across Taraba State.
The Commissioner further stressed the value of public cooperation, noting that “continuous collaboration and information sharing are essential to ensuring safety in Taraba.”
