‎The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of four persons along the Igbeti–Kishi Road in the Irepo Local Government Area of the state.

‎In a statement released on Thursday in Ibadan, the Command’s spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed that security operatives are currently combing nearby communities and intensifying intelligence gathering efforts to track down the kidnappers. Ayanlade noted that the Commissioner of Police has directed Divisional Police Officers in Kishi and Igbeti, alongside various tactical teams, to deploy all necessary operational resources to rescue the victims and apprehend their abductors.

‎“Security operatives have launched coordinated search-and-rescue operations to secure the safe release of the victims,” the statement read. The police urged members of the public to remain calm and encouraged residents to provide useful information that could assist in the ongoing rescue operations.

‎This incident follows recent successes by the command, which recently foiled a bandit attack at Elebe Village and successfully prevented a kidnapping attempt at Olorunda Village in the Ojongbodu area of Oyo West Local Government Area. The Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order across the state.
