The Lagos Police Command has exonerated the Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin of allegations linked to a suspected weapon.
In a statement yesterday, the church’s Media and Communications Department declared that “the truth will always prevail” after the Lagos State Police Command cleared its Senior Pastor.
The church further declared that the decision of the police had vindicated its position and reassured its members of Pastor Adefarasin’s innocence.
According to the statement, “The Lagos State Police Command has conducted its enquiries concerning our Senior Pastor, Paul Adefarasin. The object referred to in its earlier reports has been confirmed to be a civilian stun device and not a lethal weapon nor a firearm. No offence was found under extant Nigerian law, and the Lagos State Police Command will not file any charges. The matter is now concluded.”
“In recent weeks, Pastor Paul, his wider family, and our church community have endured intense public attention and scrutiny. Yet in the midst of the noise, we chose the path of restraint, cooperation, and confidence in the LORD whom we serve.”
“This outcome reaffirms what we have always known; that the truth will always prevail.”
“We commend the professionalism of the Lagos State Police Command in bringing this matter to an orderly conclusion.”
It emphasised that the episode had been a test of faith, but affirmed that its priority now was to remain focused on proclaiming Christ, contributing to nation-building, and strengthening community ties across Nigeria.
The statement added that Pastor Adefarasin, his family, and the wider congregation had borne the brunt of intense public scrutiny but chose the path of restraint and patience while cooperating fully with security authorities.
