The Ogun State Police Command has deployed officers and operational assets to 72 accredited computer based test (CBT) centres across the state to ensure adequate security for the 2026 unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) scheduled to hold from April 16 to April 25, 2026.
In a statement issued by the police public relations officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the command said the deployment was part of proactive and intelligence driven measures to guarantee a safe, orderly and credible examination process across all centres in the state.
According to the statement, the security arrangement is designed to ensure visible police presence, early threat detection and swift response to any security challenges before, during and after the examination period.
The commissioner of police, Ogun state command, CP Bode Ojajuni, directed all area commanders in jurisdictions hosting CBT centres to be on high alert and take full responsibility for security within their areas mandating them to ensure strict supervision of personnel while sustaining patrols around examination venues with close coordination with divisional police officers, tactical teams and JAMB officials to ensure seamless conduct of the exercise.
The Command warned that any attempt to engage in examination malpractice, impersonation or any form of disorderly conduct would attract swift arrest and prosecution assuring residents of robust security coverage throughout the examination period, reiterating the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace, order and the integrity of the examination across the state.
He urged candidates to comply with all examination guidelines and conduct while calling on members of the public to report any suspicious activities through its emergency lines
