The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended two suspects in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old Chinese national, Mr Chen Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd, in Ogere, Ogun State.

Wang was fatally stabbed in his office on Sunday, 12 January 2025, during a violent robbery.

According to police findings, the suspects, identified as 25-year-old Yunusa Abdullahi and 20-year-old Peace Keno Danlami, disabled the company’s security systems and unlawfully gained access to Wang’s office, where they allegedly carried out the killing.

The assailants reportedly stole keys to Wang’s residence, which they later burgled, fleeing Ogun State with cash and other valuables.

Their arrest was confirmed on Tuesday in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

“Following weeks of technical surveillance and tactical coordination, operatives from the Force Headquarters, in collaboration with detectives from the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), tracked and arrested the suspects in Jos, Plateau State, where they had been hiding under false identities,” Adejobi said.

He noted that the arrests were the result of a carefully planned, intelligence-led operation involving digital forensics, biometric tracking, and human intelligence.

“The swift deployment of these investigative tools was instrumental in locating and apprehending the suspects,” he added.

Both suspects are currently in custody and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended officers of the Ogun State Command, the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU), and all operatives involved for their commitment and professionalism.

He reaffirmed the Force’s dedication to ensuring the safety of all residents and foreign nationals across the country.
