Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected members of a notorious One Chance robbery syndicate.

During the operation, police recovered a tricycle used for their crimes and several suspected stolen mobile phones.

The suspects were apprehended during a routine stop-and-search operation along Iyana Ipaja Road. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, officers intercepted a tricycle carrying three occupants.

When one occupant was found with three Android phones suspected to be stolen, the driver suddenly sped off, abandoning his accomplices.

One suspect, Ademola Ibrahim, was arrested at the scene.

Under interrogation, Ibrahim confessed to being part of a syndicate specializing in dispossessing passengers of their valuables in the Idimu, Iyana-Ipaja, Egbeda, and Dopemu areas.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the fleeing driver, 26-year-old Raheem Lawal.

Two victims later identified the suspects and recovered their stolen phones.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to proactive crime prevention and urged residents to remain vigilant.
