The Osun State Police Command has arrested three suspected thugs accused of terrorising students of Osun State University in the Oke-Baale area of Osogbo, the state capital.
The suspects were identified as Abass Quadri 26-year-old; Olanrewaju Joshua 24-year-old; and Yusuf Taiwo 25-year-old.
The Command, in a statement signed by its Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the suspects specialised in terrorising students, collecting their phones and forcing them to transfer money to them.
According to statement, “Following complaints by the students of Osun State University, Oke-Baale, Osogbo about the incessant activities of criminals//thugs on their daily transit routes, on 9/9/2026, Police operatives embarked on patrol and raid of criminal hideout and arrested the above suspects.
“Their modus-operandi was that, anytime they (suspects) see the students, they will forcefully stop them, threaten them, collect their phones and force them to transfer money to them. The suspects have been charged to court and efforts are ongoing to apprehend others.
“The Command also urges members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities or threats to the nearest police station,” it added.
