Police arrest suspect over murder of three siblings

The Nigeria Police Force in Ondo State has arrested a suspect over the alleged killing of three siblings in Okitipupa.

The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday following a tragic incident that occurred on April 7, 2026.

According to the police, one Mr. Agbeye of New Site, Doctors Road in Okitipupa reported at a police station that his 28-year-old son, Femi Agbeye, allegedly attacked his younger siblings with a machete while he was away from home.

The attack reportedly resulted in the deaths of three members of the family identified as Bose Agbeye, 20; Dupe Agbeye, 7; and Blessing Agbeye, 5.

Police operatives were said to have swiftly mobilised to the scene after receiving the report, where the victims were found lifeless.

Their remains were subsequently evacuated and deposited at the morgue of the State Specialist Hospital in Okitipupa for preservation and autopsy.

The Command disclosed that the suspect was apprehended on the same day through a coordinated operation by its operatives and would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

Condemning the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State described the act as heinous and assured residents that the police would pursue justice diligently.

The Command also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations.

Police authorities reiterated their commitment to protecting lives and property, warning against all forms of violence within the society.
