Since over two years ago when the Akinwale family reported the incident of same-sex indulgence of their estranged in-law Akinyemi Kemi Basirat to the police with valid evidences to show that the said woman is a staunch bisexual. The woman in question and her bisexual partner Miss Chima Ada have since then been at large while efforts by the authorities to arrest the two bisexual women proved abortive.

Precisely on 20th December, 2023 the Akinwale family led by Alhaji Akinwale Abass and Mrs Akande Monsurat made a report at the Police Divisional Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan about indecency of Kemi Basirat coupled with her engagement in same-sex relationship which is considered a taboo in the family aside being illegal in the Constitution of Nigeria.

Prior to the report, a petition was written by the entire Akinwale family; signed by the family head Pa. Akinwale AbdulKabir and co, and addressed to the Inspector General of Police to confirm the case of bisexuality perpetrated by Akinyemi Kemi Basirat and how the woman have allegedly used her abominable sexual preference to cut short the life her husband who happened to be their brother and family benefactor.

The Akinwale’s scowled over how Kemi refused to get into legitimate marriage with their late brother Mr Akinwale Ganiu yet remained under his roof, bore him a child and squandered his wealth and engage in bisexual affair with both her husband and other female partners outside.

After the death of Kemi’s husband, the Akinwale family claimed to have been in agreement with Kemi’s brother that if she allowed them take custody of her only daughter as requested by late Mr Akinwale Ganiu before his demise, there would be no problems which Kemi agreed to. But Kemi afterwards breached the agreement and eloped with the girl to unknown destinations.

Abass gave an account of how they eventually submitted the evidences of Kemi’s bisexual escapades to the police since December 2023 in order to track down Kemi and her same-sex partners for possible persecution but all efforts were in vain as the two bisexual women have since then been at large.

However, Kemi’s same-sex partner Chima Ada had been tracked to her hideout somewhere in Rivers State. She was arrested by men of the Nigeria Police on Saturday 27th December, 2025. Chima has confessed to her involvement in homosexual activities with Kemi Basirat, who is still on the run.

The police addressed the issue on Tuesday at the Oyo state Police command and vow to arrest Kemi and arraign her alongside Chima to court.

A police commander confirmed the arrest of Chima Ada and reassure the Akinwale’s and entire public that Kemi will be found and prosecuted in due time.
