The Jigawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended several suspects and recovered five stolen motorcycles following a series of coordinated operations across multiple divisions.

In Ringim Local Government Area, the Ringim Division responded to a distress call after five armed miscreants, wielding a dane gun, machetes, and sticks, invaded a residence and stole an unregistered red Boxer motorcycle. The swift intervention of a patrol team led to the arrest of two suspects, 20-year-old Isa Idi and 22-year-old Mansur Haruna, both from the Ilorawa settlement in Jahun LGA.

The crackdown continued in the Sara Division, where officers intercepted 20-year-old Umar Wada in Sabuwar Gwaram.

He was found in possession of a red Lifan motorcycle registered in Bauchi, which was later confirmed to have been stolen from a local residence.

Similarly, in Yankwashi LGA, the police arrested 28-year-old Yahaya Baushe during a routine patrol. Investigation revealed that Baushe had trespassed into a home in Murden Gangare village to steal an unregistered Daylong motorcycle.

In Garki, police operatives responded to a violent robbery where a motorcyclist was injured and his Boxer motorcycle taken.

Although the suspects fled the scene upon the arrival of the authorities, the police successfully recovered the abandoned vehicle.

Meanwhile, a collaborative effort between the Kazaure Division and the Community Neighborhood Watch resulted in the arrest of Lawal Ibrahim, Bashir Hassan, and a minor, Umar Gambo. The trio was caught with a stolen Daylong motorcycle and three jerry cans of cooking oil, eventually confessing to the theft during interrogation.

All apprehended suspects have been arraigned in court for prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police for Jigawa State, CP Dahiru Muhammad commended his officers for their diligence and urged the public to remain law-abiding.

He further encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities to the nearest station rather than taking the law into their own hands, ensuring the command can maintain its current momentum in securing the state.
