‎The Lagos State Police Command has recorded significant breakthroughs in crime fighting operations recovering arms and arresting a wanted armed robbery suspect, Jamiu Yahaya.

Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Olayiwola Fatai attributed the successes to intelligence led policing, proactive deployment of officers, and collaboration with residents.

‎The Command disclosed that a total of 47 suspects were arrested across 15 criminal cases, alongside the recovery of 14 firearms, over 120 rounds of ammunition, vehicles, laptops, and mobile devices during the period under review.

‎Among the notable arrests was a wanted armed robbery suspect, Jamiu Yahaya, popularly known as “Elesin,” who was apprehended in Amukoko. Items recovered from him included a locally made pistol, live cartridges, and suspected charms.

‎The Command also carried out coordinated raids in areas including Egbin, Iba, and Lekki, leading to the arrest of suspects involved in phone theft and estate invasion cases. Several high end mobile phones, tools, and vehicles used in criminal activities were recovered.

The CP noted that the Easter celebration period was incident free, with no major security breaches recorded across the state.

“We urge Lagosians to remain vigilant and continue providing credible information. Your partnership is essential to sustaining this fight against criminality and ensuring Lagos remains safe for all,” CP Fatai stated.

He assured residents that the Command is working tirelessly to reduce crime to its barest minimum and that all apprehended individuals would face prosecution once investigations are concluded.
