The Police Command in Niger, has arrested two suspects for alleged cow theft in Suleja, Niger.
This is contained in a statement by its Public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, on Tuesday in Minna.
The spokesperson stated that on Sept. 5, at about 1pm, a report was received at ‘B’ Division Suleja, that on Sept. 4, one young boy left home with cattle for grazing along New-Gwazunu area of Suleja
He said further that when the boy returned home, it was discovered that one of the cows was missing.
“So, on receipt of the report, Police operatives of the Division commenced investigation and in the process, one suspect Salisu was arrested and he confessed to the crime.
“Salisu stated that he handed over the cow to one Ismail and Puri, both currently at large. It was further revealed that the cow was sold to one Habu.
“The said cow was later recovered from the house of one Suleiman Bawa, of APC Quarters Suleja with two other cows, who claimed that Habu kept the animals with him.”
Meanwhile, Salisu and Bawa were in custody for further investigation, while effort was ongoing to arrest Ismail, Puri and Habu.
