‎The Oyo State Police Command has arrested 2 suspected motorcycle thieves operating across state lines and recovered stolen motorcycles in a coordinated operation.

‎The Command disclosed that the arrest followed credible intelligence on the activities of a suspect, Ibrahim Adebisi, 24, alleged to specialise in stealing parked motorcycles.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, directed an immediate operation, leading to the arrest of Adebisi at his residence without resistance.

‎During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to stealing motorcycles from Ilesa in Osun State and transporting them to the Ojoo area of Ibadan for sale.

‎Acting on the confession, operatives extended the operation to Ojoo, where a second suspect, Hussein Haruna, 23, was arrested and identified as a receiver of stolen motorcycles.

‎Further investigation led to the recovery of 2 unregistered boxer motorcycles and 1 unregistered TVS Neo NX motorcycle.

‎Police authorities said efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the syndicate and recover additional stolen motorcycles already distributed.

‎The Commissioner of Police commended the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for his continued support in strengthening operations across commands.

‎The Command reiterated its commitment to tackling crime and urged members of the public to provide timely and credible information to aid law enforcement efforts.
