A 26-year-old man, Olamide Olamilekan, was on Tuesday, arraigned before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, for allegedly conducting himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace.
Olamilekan, whose address was not provided, was arraigned over alleged breach of peace, stealing and damage.
The Prosecutor, Insp. E.O Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on May 22, at about 5.10 p.m.at Ark Legacy project, Canaanland, Ota.
Adaraloye alleged that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by unlawfully assembling and constitutes nuisance in the community.
He added that the defendant damaged the cell key of the Nigerian Police Force, valued at N15,000 and stole an iPhone 11 pro max, valued at N700,000, belonging to one Justine Igboba.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravene Sections 62, 249(d) and 390 of Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, granted bail to defendant in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum, resident within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
The case was adjourned until June 23, for further hearing.
