Plateau Govt felicitates Christians – calls for calm at Easter

The Plateau State Government has felicitated with Christian faithful across the state on the occasion of Easter, urging citizens to remain calm, united, and law-abiding during the festive period.

In a statement issued on April 5, 2026, on behalf of Gov. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and the State Executive Council, the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, extended warm Easter greetings to Christians.

The government described Easter as a reflection of sacrifice, love, hope, the triumph of light over darkness, and the enduring values of life.

It called on residents to use the season to rise above divisions and embrace one another in the spirit of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence for which Plateau State is known, especially at this critical time.

The statement reiterated the government’s appeal for calm, restraint, and unity among all citizens, assuring that efforts are ongoing to maintain peace and security across the state.

“The government is working tirelessly with security agencies and relevant stakeholders to safeguard lives and property. Therefore, we urge residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and supportive of ongoing peace-building efforts,” the statement said.

The Plateau State Government wished all Christian faithful a peaceful, safe, and blessed Easter celebration.
