The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Akwa Ibom State Government for the joint development of oil and gas assets within the state.
The formal signing ceremony took place in Uyo, marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration in investment, technical expertise, and sustainable energy development.
Representing the state government was Imo Abasi Jacob, Managing Director of the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation, while PETAN was represented by Okey Ukaegbu and Kevin Nwanze.
The partnership is expected to unlock new opportunities for PETAN member companies, accelerate infrastructure development, create employment, and strengthen Akwa Ibom State’s position in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
It also underscores a shared commitment to leveraging local capacity and expertise to drive sustainable growth in the energy sector.
