…as Wabara led-BOT inaugurates interim NEC
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will produce Nigeria’s winners across various elective positions in the 2027 general elections.
Addressing party members and stakeholders at the 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of a PDP faction held in Abuja on Monday, Makinde asserted that the party remains well-positioned to reclaim power at all levels.
He urged members to stay united and focused as the election cycle approaches.
“We should write it down. This gathering will produce House of Assembly members, House of Representatives members, Senators, Governors, and the next President,” the governor declared.
During the meeting, the Ex-Senate President Adolphus Wabara led Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ratified the appointment of a 13-member caretaker committee to oversee its affairs.
Noting that the move was in line with the PDP constitution, Wabara explained that the Supreme Court judgment which upheld the nullification of the Ibadan National Convention created a leadership vacuum in the party.
Chaired by Tanimu Turaki, with Taofeek Arapaja serving as National Secretary, the committee’s formation followed a motion moved by Tony Aziegbemi and seconded by Clement Fagboyede.
Additional committee members include Daniel Ambrose, Hamza Abuya, Ihediwa, Isah Abubakar, Theophilus Dakashan, Ini Ememobong, Aribisala Adewale Idowu, Baru Shaffi, and Okechukwu Obiechina.
This development occurs amid ongoing internal realignments within the PDP, as party leaders continue consultations and restructuring efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
