…set to inaugurate Unit Canvassers

The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the commencement of a statewide grassroots consultative and mobilization tour by its governorship candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election in the state.
The party disclosed that the tour, which begins on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, will feature the inauguration of unit canvassers across the 16 local government areas of the state as part of efforts to strengthen its grassroots campaign structure.
In a statement issued by the Oluyede Campaign Council and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Sunday by the council’s Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the exercise was described as a strategic move to activate the party’s campaign network across wards and polling units in Ekiti State.
The council stated that the inauguration would further demonstrate Oluyede’s readiness and commitment to providing people-oriented leadership anchored on direct engagement, inclusive governance, and responsible administration.
According to the statement, the PDP candidate will use the tour to engage directly with residents across the state, present his agenda, and seek support from the electorate ahead of the governorship poll.
The campaign council described Oluyede as the most credible, competent, and people-focused candidate in the race, adding that his campaign will focus on economic revival, youth empowerment, quality education, infrastructure renewal, healthcare development, agriculture, job creation, and sustainable development.
The statement added that at every stop of the tour, the governorship candidate will meet with party members, traditional and community leaders, youth and women groups, artisans, professionals, and other stakeholders.
The tour will commence in the Emure and Ise/Orun local government areas on Tuesday, May 19, before moving to Oye and Ikole on May 20.
Other local government areas scheduled for the tour include Ilejemeje, Moba, Ekiti East, Gbonyin, Efon, Ekiti West, Ijero, Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ido/Osi, Ekiti South West, Ado, and Ikere between May 22 and June 1.
The campaign council called on PDP members, supporters, coalition partners, and residents of the state to turn out in large numbers to receive the party’s candidate during the tour.
It described the statewide engagement as a grassroots-driven movement aimed at reconnecting leadership with the people and promoting a vision of economic growth and inclusive development for Ekiti State.
