Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin has confirmed the defection of the State lawmkakers formerly in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to Governor Seyi Makinde backed Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Ogundoyin made this known in a post on his social media page on Wednesday.
In the post, Ogundoyin revealed that he led members of the State Assembly for a strategic breakfast meeting at the Iyaganku GRA residence of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, who he described as the consensus gubernatorial candidate for the party.
He framed the move as a strategic necessity to preserve the remarkable achievements of the current administration, asserting that the discussion focused on party unity and the collective responsibility of sustaining good governance.
He noted that Adekanmbi’s insights into grassroots development and progressive leadership make him the ideal choice to carry the mantle forward for the state.
Ogundoyin further urged political leaders to prioritize the interests of the people over personal ambition, maintaining that the future of Oyo State remains bright through purposeful and united leadership.
