In a decisive move to neutralize growing threats in vulnerable border communities, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has directed all security agencies to relocate their operational headquarters to the forest corridors of the Oke Ako and Iyemero axis.
The directive mandates a permanent presence within the dense forests that serve as boundaries between Ekiti and its neighboring states.
The Governor’s order was followed by an immediate mobilization of military personnel and tactical operatives.
Top-ranking officials, including the Special Adviser on Security Matters, the Commissioner of Police, and the State Director of Security Services, have already moved to the ground to coordinate the transition to the new operational base.
Governor Oyebanji emphasized that this forest-first strategy is designed to provide proactive, intelligence-driven surveillance against criminal infiltrators who exploit remote boundary routes.
The Governor stressed that community partnership is essential to the success of this deployment, urging residents to provide credible intelligence to the stationed troops.
This strategic relocation is intended to harden Ekiti’s internal security architecture and provide a continuous shield for border towns that have recently reported heightened concerns over criminal incursions.
