All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial candiate for the Osun state elections, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the royal family and the people of Ikireland following the passing of the Akire of Ikire, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olatunde Falabi.
In a message delivered on his behalf by APC Deputy Governorship candidate, Aare (Engr.) Benjamin Kayode Adereti during the monarch’s lying-in-state ceremony on Tuesday, Oyebamiji described the death of the sovereign as a monumental loss to the traditional institution and the entirety of Osun State.
He noted that the late Oba Falabi was a pillar of wisdom whose reign, spanning over three decades, was defined by an unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and the socio-economic progress of his domain.
Aare Adereti, speaking before an assembly of traditional rulers, political stakeholders, and well-wishers, conveyed Oyebamiji’s deep reflection on the monarch’s purposeful leadership and his dedication to cultural preservation.
He emphasized that the late Akire exemplified dignity in every aspect of his service to the people, ensuring that Ikire remained a hub of stability and community development throughout his time on the throne.
The ceremony served as a solemn gathering for dignitaries from across the state to pay their final respects to a leader who was a respected pharmacist before his installation in May 1993.
Adereti offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the monarch’s soul and asked for divine fortitude for the Akire Traditional Council and the royal family as they navigate this significant transition.
The legacy of Oba Olatunde Falabi, built on a foundation of humility and tireless service to his subjects, is expected to resonate for generations. His transition marks the end of an era for a town he led with distinction for more than thirty-three years, leaving behind a heritage of growth and harmony.
