He explained that March recorded the highest emergency activity with 210 incidents due to dry season conditions and increased ignition risks, while August had the lowest with 113 incidents as a result of heavy rainfall.

The Commissioner disclosed that 473 victims were rescued alive during emergency operations, while 133 bodies were recovered from various disaster scenes.

He added that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) rescued 1,924 persons and recovered 173 bodies from 1,156 emergency incidents recorded across the state during the review period.

The facilities inspected included companies, hotels, schools, hospitals, filling stations, shopping malls, and high-rise buildings across the state.

He also revealed that the Lagos State Safety Commission intensified enforcement operations between 2025 and 2026 by sealing unsafe facilities and enforcing compliance on over 2,800 construction sites and businesses. Over 3,500 construction sites achieved safety compliance certification, while 100 restaurants and supermarkets were sealed for violating safety regulations.

Additionally, 89 contravention notices and 37 stop-work orders were issued to project owners in Lekki, Oniru, and Victoria Island over safety infractions.
