The Osun State Government has finalized plans to distribute a fresh supply of essential drugs and medical equipment to 332 primary health centers across the state.
This initiative, championed by Governor Ademola Adeleke, is being executed in partnership with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency to bolster service delivery at the grassroots level.
According to a statement issued by the Executive Secretary of the Osun State Primary Healthcare Development Board, Dr. Shina Igbalaye, this procurement is part of a broader administrative strategy to enhance residents’ access to quality healthcare.
The incoming supply includes a range of critical medications, specifically antimalarials, antihypertensives, antidiabetics, haematinics, antibiotics, antacids, and analgesics.
The Board emphasized that these health centres are being strategically stocked to serve as reliable hubs for immediate medical needs.
Residents are encouraged to utilize their local government health facilities and seek professional medical attention at the first sign of illness, as the state government continues to prioritize accessible and equitable healthcare for all.
The distribution exercise is scheduled to commence shortly. State officials have assured the public that the Board will maintain consistent oversight to ensure that all 332 facilities are adequately equipped and capable of serving their respective populations effectively.
Dr. Igbalaye noted that this distribution is a significant step toward improving health services in Osun State, adding that the government remains committed to ensuring the health of all citizens is a top priority.
