Osun State, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has emerged as the sixth-ranked state in Nigeria with a 53% score in the 2025 Subnational Audit Efficacy (SAE) Index.

In the SAE Index, Ekiti State ranked first for transparency in public funds usage with 72%, followed by Gombe and Yobe states with 68% each, Adamawa with 57%, and Delta with 53%. The ranking has been described as a deliberate shift toward transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management in Osun State.

According to a post by the state government on its verified X account, the ranking serves as a testament to the steady institutional reforms and open governance philosophy championed by Gov. Adeleke over the past three years. The administration noted that in a landscape where opacity often undermines trust, Osun’s performance signals a departure toward a more citizen-focused system.

Since assuming office, Gov. Adeleke has prioritised transparency as a governing principle. The administration has consistently opened state finances to public scrutiny through regular budget publishing, improved audit processes, and the adoption of modern financial management systems.

These reforms have strengthened institutional checks and ensured that public funds are managed with greater discipline. The government stated that insistence on due process and timely financial reporting has not only improved internal systems but also restored public confidence in government operations.
