The Osun State Government has launched Imole Wi-Fi, a free internet service designed to give residents, students, businesses, and communities wider access to digital connectivity.

Commissioner for Information and Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, confirmed the development in a statement, noting that the initiative was rolled out by the Innovation, Science, Technology and Digital Economy Office under the supervision of the Special Adviser.

He explained that the project is meant to strengthen digital inclusion and create opportunities across multiple sectors of the state’s economy.

Governor Ademola Adeleke described the initiative as a transformative tool for growth. “Imole Wi-Fi is a gateway to opportunity. With this public digital infrastructure, we are cutting barriers, connecting people, and driving growth across every sector of Osun’s economy,” he said.

Special Adviser on Innovation, Science, Technology and Digital Economy, Azeez Badmus, added that the current rollout is only the beginning. According to him, the expansion of Imole Wi-Fi will be accompanied by more government services and sector-specific tools, ensuring that all residents benefit from Osun’s digital future.

Among the connection points already activated are Osun State Library, Alphastart Hub, Osun Mall, Salvation Army Middle School, Osogbo Grammar School, and several sites within the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Technology and Digital Economy.

The Imole Wi-Fi scheme is designed to extend digital access and bolster learning, job creation, healthcare delivery, and community safety across the state.
