Osun achieves top ranking in fiscal transparency

Osun State has secured a 100% fiscal transparency rating in the Q3 2025 report released by BudgIT, placing the state among the top tier for financial accountability in Nigeria.

The ranking was highlighted in a statement by the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) on Tuesday, which described the achievement as an independent validation of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s commitment to open governance.

The TICC Spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq., noted that the perfect score from the civic organization renowned for its non-partisan evaluation of public finance is a direct result of deliberate reforms aimed at building public trust.

According to the Council, these results counter recent criticisms from the opposition regarding the state’s financial position.

The administration attributed this milestone to its prudent management of public resources, including the systematic clearance of inherited pension obligations and the expansion of social interventions like free healthcare for retirees.

TICC emphasized that the state remains focused on its people-centered development agenda, asserting that the verifiable progress in infrastructure and worker welfare serves as a definitive response to political rhetoric.

The Council concluded by stating that Osun’s current trajectory of fiscal discipline has raised the standard of governance in the state, ensuring that public resources deliver tangible value to the citizens.
