The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has reaffirmed his optimism of winning with a landslide victory, saying the project is God-ordained and will triumph against all odds in the next year election.

Speaking at the annual end-of-the-year prayer session organised by the leadership of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Ikire branch, Oyebamiji said he has committed everything into the hands of God and strongly believes in Him for victory in the next governorship election.

“This is a yearly prayer programme anchored by the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Ikire branch.

This year is symbolic in the sense that the Osun State gubernatorial election will hold on August 8, 2026, and on our part, we are very hopeful. We believe in the oneness of Almighty Allah, and come August 8, 2026, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji is going to be the Governor of Osun State.

“I sincerely appreciate our people in Osun State, particularly in Ikire, for trooping out en masse to receive me and my entourage. As you can see, the revered traditional rulers, the Akire of Ikire and the Alapomu of Apomu, have reaffirmed their commitment to the AMBO project and assured us of massive support from their subjects in the forthcoming governorship election.

“You will be surprised by the volume of votes that will come from Irewole, Isokan, and Ayedaade Federal Constituency in 2026. So, I am very optimistic of winning with a landslide in the forthcoming governorship election. I have said it several times that I hardly have a competitor. By the grace of God, Oyebamiji is going to win the governorship election next year,” Oyebamiji affirmed.

Speaking briefly on allegations credited to Osun O’Signage for allegedly preventing members of opposition parties, particularly the APC, from erecting billboards in the state, Oyebamiji said:

“For me, whether O’Signage allows or disallows the erection of our party’s billboards, the fact remains that I, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, am the candidate to beat. I have said it before that this time around, the Governor is going to be a product of the true decision of the people. Ikire has produced the candidate, and the candidate — Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji — is going to be the next Governor of Osun State, by the special grace of God. There is nothing to worry about.

“To me, what the government has resolved to do is one of the schemings to attack. As for me, I do not like to attack, I will always remain focused on the assignment at hand, which is to lead and return our party to government next year.

“Regarding reconciliation, we have gone far. About three days ago, our fathers, led by Chief Adebisi Akande and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, convened a stakeholders’ meeting where we deliberated extensively. Everyone agreed that we remain united and ready to fight the battle ahead to deliver Oyebamiji’s candidacy and ensure victory for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji next year,” Oyebamiji assured.

Earlier, the Chief Imam of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Ikire branch, Sheikh Monsuru Adekunle, described the choice of Oyebamiji as the APC governorship candidate as “a round peg in a round hole.”

“The resounding endorsement of your candidature by the leadership of your great party, the All Progressives Congress, as the flag bearer for the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State is a divine testimony to your sterling qualities, unwavering loyalty, proven competence and the immense goodwill you enjoy across the length and breadth of our dear state.

“This victory is not just for you alone, but for the entire good people of Osun State, Ikire, and indeed for all who believe in progressive governance anchored on justice, equality and development. We are confident that by the grace of Allah, you will carry this flag with honour and emerge victorious at the polls, to the glory of Allah and the betterment of Osun State,” the Imam added.
