…says State in need of visionary governance not entertainment
The immediate past national Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has declared that he would win the primary election of the party by 90%.
Omisore made this bold declaration when he spoke with journalists at the declaration of his intention to contest the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 8, 2026.
The former APC scribe expressed extreme confidence in securing the party’s ticket.
Making his declaration on Tuesday at the APC State Secretariat in Osogbo to a massive gathering of supporters, Omisore confidently asserted his dominance within the party, stating, “If the primaries were held today, I would win over 90 percent of the votes. By God’s grace, I will emerge as the candidate and lead APC to victory come next August.”
Omisore’s address was a direct challenge to other potential aspirants, as he claimed that the gathering itself demonstrated the strength and widespread nature of his internal mobilization efforts.
He called on party loyalists and all residents to vote APC en masse come August 8, 2026, describing it as the only way to move Osun forward.
The former Deputy Governor positioned himself as the most serious candidate, criticizing the current political climate.
“People are expecting mature and visionary governance not entertainment,” Omisore stated. “They want meaningful improvements in education, agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, capital growth, and impartial policies. Governance is not a dancing matter, it is a serious business for serious-minded people.”
He expressed unwavering belief in his party’s chances, declaring, APC’s chances in 2026 are 100 percent.
He emphasized that the supporters present were not simply from the streets but committed party volunteers from every part of the state, reinforcing the claimed strength of his grassroots structure.
APC Chieftain and Director General of the Rescue Osun 2026 campaign, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, speaking at the event, affirmed Omisore’s experience and support base, noting that members present were the party’s true foot soldiers who had unanimously called for Omisore to enter the race.
Famurewa stressed, “As a former deputy governor, he is the most experienced among the aspirants and has what it takes to lead the APC to victory.”
Omisore concluded with a promise to emerge as the party’s candidate in December, asserting that his victory would strengthen the confidence of the people in the incoming APC-led government.
