Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has predicted a landslide for the Accord Party expressing strong confidence in securing a second term.
Speaking on Wednesday during the inauguration of the 52-member Imole Campaign Committee at the Imole Campaign Office in Osogbo, the Governor stated that he already senses a looming victory for himself and his political party, Accord ahead of the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15.
“I am feeling the victory and the defeat of our opponents. This team is heading toward success. My spirit confirms that our party, Accord, will be declared the winner by a wide margin,” Adeleke told supporters amidst celebration.
He noted that the momentum reminds him of his 2022 campaign, formally tasking the council with ensuring the continuity of good governance in the state.
In his remarks, the Director General of the campaign council, Senator Lere Oyewumi, explained that the party will adopt a refined, performance-driven strategy for this cycle.
He highlighted that the transition from an opposition party to the ruling government necessitates a shift in approach, focusing on the administration’s achievements rather than engaging in needless exchanges with opponents.
Oyewumi added that additional campaign structures would be established at the ward and local government levels to ensure grassroots mobilization.
He emphasized that the Governor’s record of performance makes him an easy candidate to market to the electorate.
The newly inaugurated 52-member council features a blend of veteran politicians and professionals.
Key appointments include Commissioner for Information Barrister Kolapo Alimi as Deputy Director General, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi as Spokesperson, and Hon. Prince Bola Ajao as Secretary.
The Media and Publicity Committee will be led by Rep. Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, while former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, will oversee Inter-Party Relations alongside 29 other standing committees.
