The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State, Dr. Najeem Salaam, has promised a 24-hour power supply if elected as governor of the state, stating that it would attract investments and create thousands of jobs.
Salaam disclosed this while unveiling his manifesto for the 2026 Osun governorship election on Monday in Osogbo, emphasizing that reliable electricity is critical to economic growth, industrialization, and job creation.
He noted that his administration would prioritize investments in the power sector to unlock the state’s economic potential.
According to him, improved power generation and distribution would stimulate industrial growth, attract investments, and create thousands of employment opportunities.
“Electricity is the engine of development. It powers industries, drives innovation, supports businesses, strengthens healthcare delivery, improves education, and enhances the quality of life of our people,” Salaam stated.
“We believe that 24-hour power generation is possible. Through strategic investments, alternative energy solutions, and effective public-private partnerships, we shall work tirelessly to provide reliable power infrastructure that will stimulate industrial growth, attract investors, and create thousands of jobs across our state,” he explained.
Salaam described the manifesto as a product of extensive consultations and engagements with residents, stressing that it represents a practical roadmap for rebuilding trust between the government and the people.
He noted that the document focuses on workers’ welfare, an agricultural revolution, quality education, accessible healthcare, youth empowerment, women’s inclusion, infrastructural development, security enhancement, investment promotion, and accountable governance.
“This manifesto is more than a collection of promises. It is a contract with the people, a contract founded on integrity, driven by compassion, and guided by a clear vision of prosperity.”
“The task of rebuilding Osun belongs to all of us. Together, we can create jobs, strengthen our economy, secure our communities, modernize our infrastructure, and build a government that is accountable to the people,” Salaam said.
