Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II jas sued for peace ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The revered traditional ruler made this call when the Osun State chapter of the City Boy Movement paid a courtesy visit to his palace in Ile-Ife, on Monday, as part of ongoing engagements with traditional institutions and critical stakeholders across the state.
Speaking, the Ooni welcomed the delegation charging politicians to prioritise peace, youth empowerment, and sustainable development in their engagements.
The Ooni also reiterated the need for responsible leadership and collective efforts toward the progress of Osun State and Nigeria at large.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Aare Engr. Benjamin Kayode Adereti, alongside the Osun State Director of the City Boy Movement, Engr. Kayode Sowade, and House of Representatives member, Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro, among other prominent leaders and members of the movement.
Speaking during the engagement, Adereti emphasised the importance of traditional rulers in maintaining peace, cultural preservation, and community development.
He noted that the City Boy Movement remains dedicated to aligning with institutions that command respect and influence across communities, particularly in advancing progressive ideals and people-oriented governance.
The CBM State Director, Engr. Kayode Sowade in his remarks also highlighted the growing impact of the Movement in Osun State, stating that the courtesy visit was part of a broader consultation process designed to deepen political awareness and strengthen support structures ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial elections.
