The Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has felicitated the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on the occasion of his 66th birthday anniversary.

The monarch commended the Governor’s developmental strides and his people-oriented style of governance within the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, the monarch described Governor Adeleke as a cheerful and humble leader whose administration continues to promote peace, unity, and steady development across Osun State.

The traditional ruler praised the Governor for his commitment to infrastructural growth, youth empowerment, and support for cultural heritage, noting that his leadership style has endeared him to many residents.

The Ooni further stated that Governor Adeleke’s cordial relationship with traditional institutions has contributed immensely to stability and harmonious coexistence in the state.

According to the monarch, the Governor has remained accessible and responsive to the needs of the people since assuming office in 2022.

On behalf of the House of Oduduwa and the people of Ile-Ife, the Ooni prayed that God would grant the Governor continued wisdom, strength, and sound health for greater service to humanity.

In a contrasting tone, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also joined in acknowledging the Governor’s 66th birthday.

In a statement signed by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the APC noted that Governor Adeleke remains one of the most favoured of his generation for reaching the age of 66 without visible health encumbrances.

The party wished him abundant grace but accompanied its felicitations with sharp political critiques.

The APC statement suggested that the Governor’s experience over the past three years should have revealed that effective governance is more difficult than he initially promised during his 2022 campaign.

The party alleged that the administration’s efforts have been marred by nepotism and a lack of technical capacity for even development across the state.

The opposition party further urged the Governor to apologize to residents for what it described as the misappropriation of over N1 trillion in revenue accrued during his tenure.

The statement continued by claiming that public funds had been spent on frivolities and predicted that the Governor would face scrutiny from anti-graft agencies following his eventual exit from office.

The APC expressed its conviction that its own candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, would win the upcoming August 15, 2026, governorship election.

The party concluded by advising the Governor not to expend state revenue on birthday celebrations, while making further allegations regarding past donations and expenditures on private projects.
