Leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State have proposed that an indigene of Akure succeed Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The party elders disclosed this in a communiqué issued at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure under the leadership of Prince Tony Ala, in which the group also reaffirmed its loyalty to Pres. Bola Tinubu and Gov. Aiyedatiwa.

The leaders argued that fairness and inclusiveness demand that Akure, being the state capital, should produce the next governor of Ondo State. They said the demand reflects the aspirations of Akure-speaking communities and aligns with equitable power rotation across the state.

They also endorsed Oluwafemi Fadairo for the Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency and Adeola Rosemary Fynch for the Akure South Constituency I seat in the State Assembly.

According to the elders, the endorsements were based on the competence, loyalty, and strong grassroots appeal of the aspirants.

The leaders, however, rejected automatic tickets, insisting that only credible and widely accepted candidates should emerge.

Notable signatories to the communiqué include Sunday Adejuyigbe, Ifedayo Ologometa, Dele Faboro, Idowu Otetubi, and Femi Bello, among others.
