…rallies support for Tinubu, other candidates ahead of 2027 polls
Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has only one indivisible structure in the state, warning against attempts to create parallel factions within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Monday at the APC Elders Council meeting held at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa dismissed factional claims, emphasizing that the party remains a single, united entity under one state chairman.
“APC is one. There are no two APCs in Ondo State. APC is one, All Progressives Congress,” the governor stated, adding that party members attempting to set up separate councils should be reconciled and brought back into the main fold to preserve organizational strength.
To ensure grassroots cohesion, Governor Aiyedatiwa directed the immediate activation of the Elders Council across all 18 local government areas, emphasizing that local engagements would allow senior leaders to contribute meaningfully without having to travel long distances.
The governor stressed that the paramount interest of any political party is to secure and retain power, calling on party faithful to work collaboratively across Ondo State’s 18 local governments, 203 wards, and 3,933 polling units.
The Governor added that the platform to rally widespread support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, as well as all APC candidates contesting for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly seats in 2027.
He credited the President’s economic reforms with boosting state revenues to deliver critical infrastructure, health, and security projects across Ondo State.
Supporting the governor’s position, APC State Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, alongside the Chairman of the APC Elders Council, Senator Nimbe Farukanmi, affirmed that the party’s statutory organs remain unified.
They noted that the experience of party elders, combined with the current administration’s track record in job creation, road construction, and healthcare delivery, will serve as the cornerstone for a total victory in the 2027 elections.
