The camp of Senator Iyiola Omisore, former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially distanced itself from reports alleging that a Federal High Court suit has been filed against the party.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of the Omisore group, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, the group clarified that recent media reports regarding an active lawsuit, purportedly titled FHC/OS/CS/261/2025 – Senator Iyiola Omisore v. APC & ANR, are false and did not originate from them.
The statement explained that while a suit was initially contemplated following the disqualification of seven out of eight aspirants during the party’s screening process, an action the group believed violated the 2022 Electoral Act, it was never pursued to a stage of service.
According to Famurewa, the suit was discontinued following the direct intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, and other prominent party leaders.
Following these consultations, Senator Omisore publicly declared his support for the party’s decisions and his commitment to honor the President’s leadership on national television.
“Furthermore, to his support declaration on national television, the suit was discontinued and no one has served any court notice to date,” the statement read. “It is not unusual to see jobbers and sycophants seize the opportunity to misrepresent the facts, create fear, panic, and distrust amongst members and the masses.”
The Omisore camp has urged party members and the general public to disregard the purported suit and any misleading statements currently circulating in the media.
They emphasized that the focus should remain on fostering party unity and cohesion ahead of the upcoming elections.
