The Ogun State Police Command has launched a two-week statewide documentation and verification exercise targeting all Supernumerary Police (SPY) officers deployed across corporate and private organizations in the state.
Announced on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the proactive audit runs from September 23 through October 7, 2026.
The directive instructs companies, financial institutions, and security firms employing SPY personnel to ensure their officers present themselves at the Police Public Relations Department, situated at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, operatives are required to appear in approved uniform and present both original and duplicate copies of their training credentials, formal warrant cards or authorized letters of identification, alongside recent passport photographs and any complementary employment records.
The command emphasized that the verification drive is designed to tighten regulatory oversight, establish an up-to-date central registry, and eliminate unauthorized or improperly deployed auxiliary personnel operating within Ogun State.
