The Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN) has announced plans to confer prestigious awards and recognitions on the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), TotalEnergies, and other key players in the country’s energy industry.
In a statement issued to the media, the association confirmed that the awards ceremony will take place in Lagos on 12 September.
According to the list of recipients, the Petroleum Training Institute will receive the OGTAN Excellence in Oil and Gas Training Award, while Nigeria LNG Limited will be honoured with the OGTAN Best Corporate Training Partner Award.
Dr Ernest Nwapa, the pioneer Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, is to be recognised with the OGTAN Lifetime Achievement in Capacity Building Award, while the NCDMB itself has been selected as Government Partner of the Year.
Pana Holdings Limited and Oilserv Limited are slated to receive the OGTAN Affiliate of the Year Award. TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited will be presented with the OGTAN Young Professional Development Award. In addition, Aradel Holdings PLC and First Exploration & Petroleum Development Company will each be acknowledged with the OGTAN Indigenous HCD Company of the Year Award.
Mrs Funmi Ogbue, the founding President of the Women in Energy Network and Chief Executive Officer of Zigma Energy Group, is to be honoured with the OGTAN Women in Energy Leadership Award.
Speaking on the upcoming ceremony, OGTAN President Christopher Osarumwense said the event reflects the association’s commitment to strengthening the training segment of Nigeria’s petroleum industry by building essential skills to support operating companies, service providers, and government institutions, particularly as industry responsibilities expand.
He reaffirmed that OGTAN remains dedicated to celebrating individuals and organisations that demonstrate excellence in training, capacity development, and knowledge transfer, as well as those who play a central role in advancing local content in the nation’s oil and gas sector.
