The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has praised his Ekiti State counterpart, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, for what he described as remarkable achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, and inclusive governance, noting that the Governor’s performance has “silenced the opposition and inspired development across the state.”
Governor Ododo made the remarks on Tuesday at the dual commissioning of the 20.65 kilometre Ikere Ilawe Road and the renovated and equipped General Hospital, Ilawe Ekiti, where he served as the special guest of honour.
Speaking at the event, Ododo praised Governor Oyebanji’s vision and dedication to public service, noting that the commissioned projects symbolize continuity, people oriented governance, and progressive leadership.
“Today’s event is not just about commissioning projects; it is about celebrating vision, leadership, and the undying spirit of service to the people,” Ododo said.
He explained that the Ikere Ilawe Road project, which began in 2022 but stalled after a change of administration, has now been completed under Oyebanji’s leadership a development he described as a strong message that progressive and people focused leaders ensure development continues beyond political transitions.
The Kogi governor commended the project’s quality, describing the road as a “bridge to opportunity, growth, and prosperity for the great people of Ekiti State.”
Ododo also applauded the renovation and equipping of the General Hospital, Ilawe Ekiti, saying it reflects the Oyebanji administration’s understanding that a healthy population is the foundation of a productive society.
He urged residents to take ownership of the projects, protect public infrastructure, and continue supporting the state government to sustain development gains.
“Support your Governor as he continues to deliver the dividends of democracy. For his humility, service, and good heart toward his people, he remains an indomitable asset to the progressive family,” he said.
The Kogi State governor further praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for policies that have empowered sub-national governments to undertake capital projects, noting that the Renewed Hope agenda has “redefined the destiny of the nation for good.”
Reaffirming the long standing bond between Ekiti and Kogi states, Ododo said both share a history of unity and mutual respect, adding that many Kogi citizens residing in Ekiti have commended Oyebanji’s people centered leadership.
“I have no doubt that you will continue this tempo till 2030,” he said confidently.
Ododo urged Governor Oyebanji to remain focused and undeterred by political distractions, insisting that his achievements have “thrown the opposition into confusion.”
He thereafter declared open the Ikere Ilawe Road Project and the Renovated and Equipped General Hospital, Ilawe Ekiti, to the glory of God and for the benefit of the people of Ekiti State.
