The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has fixed August 5 for the commencement of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course across the country.

The scheme disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday by its Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, stating that the three-week orientation programme would be held simultaneously in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory from Wednesday, August 5, to Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

According to the statement, prospective corps members can now access their Call-up Numbers through their individual dashboards, while their Call-up Letters will be uploaded in due course.

“Accordingly, Call-up Numbers have been uploaded to the dashboards of prospective Corps Members, while Call-up Letters will be made available in due course,” the statement read.

The Director-General of the NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, congratulated all prospective corps members mobilised for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II service year on successfully completing their studies in tertiary institutions within and outside Nigeria.

“He congratulates all prospective Corps Members mobilised for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Service Year on the successful completion of their studies in higher institutions within and outside Nigeria, which has qualified them for national service,” the statement said.

Nafiu also urged prospective corps members to make safety a priority while travelling to their designated orientation camps, advising them to avoid night journeys and comply with all travel guidelines.

“He wishes them a safe journey to their respective Orientation Camps and strongly advises them to avoid travelling at night. The Director General also urges them to strictly adhere to all travel and safety guidelines throughout their journey to the camps,” the statement added.

The announcement follows the successful completion of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I orientation exercise, which took place nationwide between June 10 and June 30.

However, the exercise in Niger State was rescheduled after the state’s orientation camp sustained damage. As a result, prospective corps members from the state underwent their orientation programme at the NYSC camp in Kubwa, Abuja, from July 7 to July 27.

The NYSC conducts the orientation programme to prepare graduates for the one-year mandatory national service through paramilitary drills, leadership training, entrepreneurship development and other activities aimed at promoting national unity and integration.
