Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria has successfully secured accreditation for approximately seventy programmes.

During a facility tour conducted for journalists in Zaria, the Rector of the institution, Engr. Muhammad Kabir Abdullah, revealed that this feat, facilitated by the sustained support of the Kaduna State Government, includes approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) for cutting-edge courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Law, and Supply and Procurement.

Engr. Abdullah highlighted that the institution has undergone a visible transformation since Governor Sani assumed office.

He noted that the administration’s commitment to technical and vocational education is evident in the increased funding, the strategic recruitment of both academic and non-academic staff, and the rapid expansion of academic facilities.

Adding context to these developments, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, emphasized that these investments are central to the Governor’s broader strategy to combat unemployment and insecurity.

By equipping the youth with market-relevant skills, the state aims to produce graduates who are immediately employable, thereby addressing the root causes of youth restiveness and social conflict.

The impact of these reforms is also being felt directly by the student body. The President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Abubakar Buhari, lauded the state government for its sensitive approach to student welfare.

He specifically pointed to the 50 percent reduction in tuition fees across all state-owned tertiary institutions and the comprehensive renovation of campus hostels as life-changing interventions for students and their families.

According to the student leader, these measures have significantly lowered the barrier to higher education and improved the general living conditions on campus.

He affirmed the commitment of the student community to support the state government’s ongoing efforts to create a more conducive and accessible learning environment across Kaduna State.
