The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, has trained 50 of its personnel on proactive intelligence gathering sharing to enhance national security.
The personnel drawn from Zuba division intelligence department of the corps are participating in a three-day intensive programme organised by the FCT command of NSCDC in Abuja.
FCT Commandant of NSCDC, Dr Olusola Odumosu said on Wednesday that the training was to upscale the knowledge and skills of the personnel for prompt intelligence gathering and dissemination.
Odumosu, represented by the Deputy Commandant of corps, Bukar Hussaini, reiterated that training and retraining were imperative for creating skilled and efficient workforce that would support the set goals of the corps.
According to the commandant, intelligence gathering all over the world remains a cardinal focus for successful protection of lives and property.
“If we must succeed in our mandate of protecting the critical national assets and infrastructure, we must all be on top of the game by being miles ahead of criminals and vandals,” he said.
Odumosu applauded the efforts of the trainers for exposing the participants to modern and advanced level of intelligence gatherings and security report writing.
